Our History

Founded in 2013 as Urban Community Linc, the organization launched as a summer pantry program in Kansas City, MO, aiding families in fighting food insecurity by providing healthy meals. We believe food insecurity is more than a lack of food but encompasses the disparity of access to healthy nutritious options, knowledge of meal prep methods and food handling education. With our heightened awareness of the food insecurity gap, Urban Community Linc launched its Pantry Life Skills Connections in 2015 offering cooking and nutrition courses in conjunction with our pantry services.  

Urban Community Connections believes that tough times deserves an organization with integrity, intuitiveness and intestinal fortitude that fosters provisional support while aiding in rebuilding those in our community. In an effort to fulfill our mission to the community Urban Community Connections strives to grow and develop the programs and resources offered to those in need.
